Marthe Brilman studied at The Beaux Arts School of Paris and subsequently became an art teacher, principally drawing and sketching. In 1965 she concentrated on oil-painting , which has been her passion ever since. Soon discovered by the internationally recognized art dealer ,writer and poet Katia Granoff, she was on permanent exhibition from 1972 until 1990 at Granoff's distinguished gallery in Paris, Place Beauvau as well as in Honfleur and Cannes. She loves sailing and paints seascapes and nautical themes, as well as landscapes inspired by her travels, more recently China. She also excels at still life , and has developed her own technique using tiny knives which leave the canvas smooth. Marthe Brilman is an independent artist and does not belong to any School of Painters.
